Cool Blog Names - Choosing the Right One for You

Picking out the right name for a blog is a difficult task. There are times when we simply just can't get the perfect one that will suit the blog we want to start. Like having writer's block, no matter how much we force our brain's to think, we frustratingly cross off any attempt we have made because it just doesn't feel right. But this is an important part of the process when starting a blog. Looking at the other blogs with cool blog names, you know that you need to have one yourself in order to attract attention and drive up your traffic volume.

Cool blog names, well, are cool, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it's the perfect one for you. We all know how word plays using puns, rhymes and metaphors can generate interest, they can also be amusing and can entice or attract web browsers to check out your site, but it can only be perfect if the attention you attract comes from persons that can eventually be a customer. Or if your blog site is for personal uses, the browser would spend time inside your site and come back for more. To do this, your visitors should be people that have the same interest as you and the niche market your blog is included.

For example, if your blog is all about cartoons of the 90's yet your blog name says something about pizza, then you're not attracting the right kind of people. Having cool blog names will certainly be a great help in promoting your site, but it should be strategically created. Here are some of the factors that you should consider to help you in creating cool blog names that would be effectively relevant for you.

First and foremost it should be related to your niche. It must describe your site in a playful manner. In most searches, people would see the blog name or domain name before they can actually read the content of the blog, so having a name that can let browsers know your content will help them in deciding to go to your site.

Keep it short and sweet. A three to five word blog name will be easy to remember. Sure a one sentence name with about ten or twelve words will be able to effectively describe your niche, but it really can't induce easy memory retention. It would be difficult for browsers to tell their friends or officemates about it if they get confused. They might mix up the words and send them to other blog sites. Cool blog names should be short yet catchy and fun.

Make sure that your blog name can also be your domain name and it is available. If your browsers can easily remember your domain name, when they want to go back they can just type the blog name and add the suffix, .net, .com, or any other.
